How can I block an incoming call based on the calling number?
Sometimes you will want to block a number from calling in to your phones based on their phone number.
Resolution
These are the steps to resolve
- Log in to your ES1 or ES2 account The following steps are only for the SpectrumVoIP Enswitch and Enswitch 2 User Portals
- Select the features tab to the left underneath where it says SpectrumVoIP in big letters.
- Click on where it says “Numbers” under the Features tab.
- You will see a list of the phone numbers associated with the account. Select the number that you wish to block a specific number from calling by clicking on the number itself.
-
You will then be taken to a settings page for that number. Scroll all the way to the bottom to the section labeled “Caller Routes”
-
Directly to the right of where it says Caller Routes is a dark blue box that says “Add a caller route”. Click the “Add a caller route” and you will see a page for Caller Route Settings.
-
In the box next to where it says “Caller number prefix”, put the number that you wish to block.
-
In the next box, the Description is optional.
-
In the final box that says “Forward matching calls to” needs to be set to Hang Up Call.
-
Then the number will show up in your call routes and you will no longer be receiving calls from that number.
